For anyone aspiring to use wholeplate format, Ebony have been in correspondence with some of the LF Photography Forum users. Here's the thread:

http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?t=28434

The guys are looking for a minimum of 5 orders for the whole plate Ebony listed on their site. Ebony will give a $1250 discount if the required numbers for whole plate cameras are ordered within the same week (time to be decided).

Just wondering if this is appropriate to post here since a lot of us at the LF Photography forum don't frequent Apug much. Details on the LF Photography forum.

Many thanks.

I have it on my website as Canadian $8400. I've emailed Ebony this morning to try and nail down a reduced price of five units. Right now I have four photographers discussing this with me... still looking for more.

Wow! that's ULF prices. Is this because it is a special order?

The price of $8400 is because they've only made two cameas and they were special orders. We're hoping to cut the price by making the camera so popular it becomes routine and the price can drop.

Well whole plate was a very popular size during the wet-plate era so it just may catch on really quick. Yes if you can get Ebony to add it to their regular line of cameras that price should drop significantly. ( At least let's hope so anyway)

Todays conversion rate is .94108 so U.S. price would be 7905.07?

I've put the pricing on the Sponsors Forum area.
