F2S meter

For those that have the Nikon F2S, what is your experience with the meter.
There are only two LED...a plus and a minus.
In Theory, with a "perfect" exposure, both LED will be lit. I rarely see that situation Usually it will show either a minus or a plus LED.
That makes sense to me. There are not enough LED to show much of anything in between, but am i right.?
Is that how your camera meters also.?

I've seen it - the F2 shutter speed dial offers stepless settings from 1/80 to 1/2000 (i.e. the green numbers). You don't need to set it exactly at 1/125, /250, or whatever. You choose in-between settings. That's how you can dial in the exposure.

Yeah...i understand all of that, and actually have an F2S hard manual.
I suppose one "problem" i am having is that the old match needle system i am used to is probably less sensitive.?
Seems like i can select an aperture number and then adjust the shutter speed for a fairly centered exposure. The LED may offer more Sensitivity/Movement for the same amount of adjustment.?
When using the S i will probably need to accept a bit more aperture play than normal to get the "correct" exposure, or just keep doing what i have been doing, and go with a little bit of (+) on many frames.

The meter in the F2S is one of the most sensitive ever made.
It is the cells that are more sensitive.
But, I also think that it is because the centre point is an exact value. Lets say you meter a particular scene and the meter to be centred is EV13.77.
Using a needle in a small viewfinder the difference between EV13.50 and EV13.90 would be a very small deflection up or down to a point that you wouldn't be able to see much of a difference.
But, using a light system where the precise point is 2 lights on or even just one green light results in a more precise tuning to be done in order to achieve EV13.77.
That is my impression of having used both systems.

Yeah...i think that is exactly what is happening.
Just a matter of adjusting to the "better" meter.
