This 8x10 camera has been used sparingly and is in "as new" condition. It comes with the cloth and velcro wrap, an 8x10-to-5x7 reducing back, and a Linhof lens board adapter, handy for those of you who mount lenses semi-permanently to Linhof lens boards (the Lee compendium shown with the camera is not included). Chamonix charges $3215 for the camera, $600 for the 5x7 back, $180 for the lens board adapter, and $115 for shipping. This totals $4110.

I will sell this package for $3536, an almost 14% discount, and pay for the shipping within the lower 48 states.

The camera is absolutely beautiful, lightweight, and a joy to use. I plan to re-order this size and a 16x20 from Chamonix after my new house and studio are built.

Here are details of the 5x7 reducing back. Another photographer bought it separately for his first-generation walnut Chamonix 8x10, but returned it for a full refund, due partially to a slight bow on one axis that resulted in a light leak on his camera. It does not, however, leak on my camera and it fits like a glove, held very tightly at all four corners. I'm including photographs of the 10x10 interface and the inside surface of the 5x7 back to illustrate the interlocking joinery of the two pieces. I have exposed several sheets of T-max 400 in bright sunshine and have not experienced light leaks.

Wow, almost 400 viewers! At least one of you must be close. Feel free to PM me with a plan.

Rob,

I just sent you a PM.

I've had several people ask me if the camera, lens board adapter, and shipping could be sold together without the 5x7 reducing back. Understandably, the back makes them a little nervous, given my description, so I will keep it for my replacement Chamonix.

I will sell the "as new" camera, lens board adapter, and velcro cloth wrap for $3036 and pay for the shipping to any of the lower 48 states. Chamonix' value for this is $3510.

Thanks for all the interest so far. We're at 659 viewers now!
