Exa la cable release

Hi,
I'm new to (film)photography and just started to use an old Exa la camera (with a Meyer-Optik Görlitz Domiplan 2.8/50 lens), but I don't have a cable release for it. Are these traditional cable releases interchangeable or do I need to find a specific type?
Also if I need a certain type any idea how to look for it?

Does that tab have a hinge where it joins to the lens? It looks like it does, so you should be able to use the camera without a cable -- but that socket appears likely to accept a standard release (if it has long enough protrusion on the tip). I had an Exa II (almost fifty years ago) and it accepted a standard release, but my one automatic lens had a different setup from that one.

A starndard cable release will wotk , find one with a decent trow (some give more movementO and a reasonably strong one.

It is the standard european conical thread for such releases. Any cable release you should come across would fit.

As Donald says, you won't need it for standard operation. In case you want to release by cable (to avoid shutter) the longer and softer the cable the better. (Ian above is if different meaning.)
There are various kinds, differing in the cable-hull material and the grip. A basic release you would find in the drawer of any camera store with least connection with old cameras...
A grip with an arrest would be helpful at exposures of many seconds.
