Epson V700/750 and 6x6

I cut my 6x6 negs into 3 strips of 4. It looks like the Epson V700/750 holders accept two strips of 3. Does a 4 frame strip even fit into the holder? I'd be ok if I can't scan all 4 at once, but I don't want to go hacking up my strips to scan them.

Can't answer your question about V700/750 since I don't own one BUT I thought the standard for 6x6 was to cut 3 frame strips not 4!? Where do you store your strips? I know no negative sleeve (and file) that will be able to fit 4 frame strips of 120/220 film... Maybe you should continue with 3 frame strips in the future. (I personally have only one roll that was cut into 4 frame pieces, and that was my very first 120 roll! )

OTOH, I don't think that you'll have to cut 4 frame strips to be able to scan them with a V700/750, since the holders should allow you to mount even longer strips. (According to my experience with other Epson flatbeds, that is.)

You can also buy a Betterscan holder, they should fit 4 frame strips. See this:

We don't have vertical sleeves here. Only horizontal (4 rows). So, apparently some like and prefer vertical film orientation (in negative sleeves) for square shots...

I thought the standard for cutting was based on contact printing on a 8x10 paper sheet.

I gotta say 6x12 is greedy to store

I'm also using the betterscanning holder and its so far and away a better holder for 120 I wouldn't bother with anything else.

Just make sure you get the AN glass the right way down when you press it onto your negs ... its the fuzzy looking side, not the shiny side

- 4 rows of 3 frame strips will perfectly fit into 8x10" paper.
- OTOH, I don't do contact prints.
- I use glassine sleeves, therefore image orientation in the sleeve doesn't matter to me, since I have to get the film out of the sleeve in case I need to contact print anyway.

3 rows of 4 should fit on an 8x10 too. They're square negatives, so 3x4 or 4x3 is the same.

I've been using the sleeves from Archival methods. About the length of a 6 frame strip of 35mm. I didn't realize it wasn't the standard. haha.
