I'm wondering if anyone can comment on the Epson v370 scanner? I'm looking only to scan my negs so I can decide which photos I want enlarged in the darkroom. However, I'm not sure about the quality of this scanner. I'm also considering the v550 for $50 more. I have no knowledge or experience with scanners/scanning 35mm. Help is appreciated.

The problem with scanners is that with negative film, you have to apply digital software adjustments either during or after the scan. So you really don't know what you have; which would be best for chemically printing. Wouldn't a contact print of the 35mm strips give a more reliable indication?
