I picked up a new (to me) lens for my Omega B-8 to use with my 6x7 negs. A "Wollensak 90mm f/4.5 Enalrging Raptar" lens---got it for $10. I was wondering if anyone knows about these lenses and did I get a good deal? It looks very clean and in good condition, no scrathes on the glass.

Well, for $10 bucks you can hardly go wrong. In my expereince, though, enlarging Raptars aren't very good. That said, they had significant sample to sample variation. Give it a try. If it is soft and low contrast, it might be just the ticket for certain images.

I lent one to a friend once, and he used it without complaint for years.
