I'm involved in keeping a university darkroom open and have laser-aligned a whole row of Omegas. I'll add two things: replace all the Omega machine screws with new- the originals are very poor quality soft alloy; second, I now REALLY appreciate the thought and construction quality of my personal Zone VI model 2 enlarger!

@Mealers- I use a Versalab "Parallel" laser and it is entirely satisfactory. However, with a little thought and tinkering, I think you can do what is needed with a lower cost construction laser, such as one of the small Bosch units.
