One of the long term municipal councilors here in Delta got a personalized license plate that says "Delta". Not in bad taste at all!

Historically, people would engrave something like their Social Insurance/Security or telephone number on their cameras because they expected to keep and use that camera until they no longer could take photos with it.
They also seemed to believe that engraving would discourage theft, and make it more likely that a stolen camera would be returned to them.
For most people, the idea of selling a camera just didn't occur to them.

Do as you please its your camera, they are just an inanimate object. If you think of it as a commodity then keep it original, it will be worth more that way.
It wouldnt bother me in the least to buy a camera with someone elses name on it, to me that elevates it a little to having some character. I like cameras that have been used and loved.
Ive see people people decorate their cameras to give a more personal touch.
My Lieca if has "Gretl" stuck to the bottom, I leave it there cause I like the name and I refer to the camera by name.
