I have finally acquired my "End-game" Camera setup; This setup will be my companion until it's over. Maybe you guys could share your long term (never part) setups as well.

Black M6 (yet to be acquired) with boring 1970s run of the mill pain vanilla 2.0/50mm V3 Summicron with clip-on lens shade.
 
With questions like this about cameras I always think 'until the next one'

I have some nice Leica's but for an 'end-game' setup where decline is factored in it would be something by Nikon accompanied by the sounds of an auto focus lens and auto exposure. I'm guessing the camera will also wind the film on for me and wind it back in again if I can find the button. My Leica's can still star as part in the estate sale.
 
Been happy with my Kiev-4 and its Jupiter-8 50mm f/2 for 15 years. Never liked another 35mm rangefinder better, though never tried a Leica.

Here's me when I first got it.

The camera's case, and the shirt I wore, are now falling apart. But the camera is good as new.

And how has your hairstyle evolved during the time? :smile:
 
I’m too motivated by variety to settle down to one “endgame” setup for everything, but my Rolleiflex seems to be a permanent first-call general-purpose camera. I do use plenty of others, especially for travel, but that’s the one that makes me say “this niche is decisively filled”.

Edit: oops, didn’t notice this was in rangefinder-land. I’m close to converged with my Contax RF kit, but there are still a few loose ends.

If a digital you would all agree that it's difficult to get an end game camera as they change so fast. Now of course the OP meant film. For me not fancy of expensive. Just a Nikon F3HP with a few lenses. 28mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.4, 85mm f/2 and 135 f/2.8. The problem the game would end when I can't get film any more.

Varied between 1/2 inch to approximately 24 inches... back and forth several times, the complete gamut of hair experience (excluding the manbun or dreadlocks). Back to 1/2 inch today.

4x5 Wisner, 4x5 Crown Graphic, Hassy, IIIf, M2, M4, M5, F, F2, F3 all with appropriate glass. I want options heading into the end game.
 
Wel--l-l-ll I suppose it's not very exciting, but tending to prefer the SLR/TLR/Mirrorless macchina fotografica, over a rangefinder I reckon the Argus C-3 acquired around the end of 1957 as a junior in high school will see me through. 🤓
 
Every time I see this thread title, it makes me think of The Doors:
 
My camera preferences vary by subject matter, shooting location, composition or desired results.
 
I suspect I will ultimately end up with a Canon F-1 for my primary FD-lens camera. My OM-1 is already likely to be my forever OM-mount camera. But my FTb gets plenty of use, and even with an F-1, I'd probably keep the FTb body in the bag with an alternative film option loaded.

But as fun as it is to collect new gear, I'm very much to the point in my 35mm work where I'm not held back by my gear, or even my technique, really. I need to focus more on the right-brained/artistic parts of the process to get better, and that will be true for the rest of my life.

Edit: Also didn't realize this was in the rangefinder forum. I'm not a big rangefinder fan. Briefly owned an Olympus XA, that's probably the only one I'd consider buying at this point.

Yes, good point. I actually feel the same with my R6 and Summilux - how much more gear does one really need?
 
Thought it'd be my Leica, but it's my Blad 903 SWC. I've bought and sold and bought a fair amount of cameras and lenses. Don't think I've ever owned a camera I feel this good about.
 
SWC is the GOAT of GOAT cameras. Especially the later versions.
 
Shame that Hasselblad US no longer services the SWC or SWC/M. I think the 903 and 905 are fine for now as parts are still available.
