Hi,

I have some negs to develop from a gig the other day; shot on Neopan 1600. I bought some Tetenal Emofin as I was interesting in trying a compensating 2-bath developer with this film.

However, I wondered how toxic Emofin was?
And also how much it stains?

Because I've read a few reports that it stains things quite heavily if spilled -- something I have to be wary of in a rented flat. I don't want the bathroom sink ruined.

So, anyone any experience with it?

I have some DD-X in the house which I could use as an alternative but the DD-X has been open for about a year and I worry it might be 'expired'.

thanks!

Matt

Used it some years ago. Very nice developer. Stained the bottles, nothing more.

You can download the safety data sheets for Emofin and other Tetenal products from the Tetenal website.
Metol and a PPD derivative is listed, the latter is probably one of the agents used in colour developers.
