Done. That is a neat little camera.

Done.

What's Fujifilm UK's forum? That would be another place to discuss it, since Fujifilm UK reps participate on that board.

Sent my email, I am hot for one of these!!....Evan Clarke

Hot for one of what?

What product does everyone else but me seem to know about? I looked at the Fuji web site and couldn't find anything.....

Oh, this: (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Duh. It's cold up here. Brain frozen. Brrrr.

I know some of the senior Fuji sales people but unfortunately I won't be at Focus on Imaging, the major UK trade show next month, to lobby them.

But I've already sent them an email.

Ian

You go to that link you see some futuristic thing labeled Cannon. Click on anything it takes you to a useless page about all the other stuff at the show, all digital. What's to get excited over?

Show me a camera, show me some specs.

Go to post #54 of that thread.

Talk about digging. Thanks.

It's cute.

Well Fuji UK are on the ball, showing how a professional photo-manufacturer should respond. I sent an email expressing interest in the camera (Friday evening) and received a reply by lunch-time (UK) today, from their senior Business/Marketing specialist, in the Fuji Professional Imaging Division.

Ian

Well what did he say?
Only what you'd expect after all it is a prototype:

"Thanks for your email. At present, the new Fujifilm GF670 camera, shown at
PMA, is only a prototype. Unfortunately, we do not have any information on
price or availability for the UK market at this time."

But at least they know I'm interested in buying one if they are manufactured.

Ian

I think these Fuji people in the UK are well aware of APUG, and will read the threads.

Ian

This is correct. The UK-based Choose Film site [ Dead Link Removed ] is sponsored by Fuji UK and the Links page has APUG on the list.

A lot of us on this side of The Pond are members of Choose Film too.

My email:
I was very happy seeing your 6x7cm film camera
prototype images on the internet. I find that Fuji's direction is just right, traditional photography needs classic cameras. I would
call it Fuji Classic R1 6x7.
I use 35mm, medium and large format film and I'm committed to user film to the last roll of film available and still I believe we will have many types available in the coming few decades at least. We should not let a beautiful art/craft such as traditional photography disappear just like that.
Thank you Fuji for supporting traditional photography.

According to Fujifilm in Japan, the prototype at PMA was indeed a mockup. I called them yesterday, and the lady on the phone told me so. And what she said was very much the same as the UK response written above.

It's been made and shown to determine the level of interest, I guess the same prototype will be shown at "Focus on Imaging" in the UK next month.

If Fuji don't bring the camera to market the response might give Cosina an opportunity to launch a new MF Voightlander :D
