That's the first 8x10 I used. My buddy bought it for 300 bucks in the early 80's. We had to drive to Chicago to Darkroom Aids Co. My friend still has it, a couple years back I used it. 500W huge bulb, mirror on inside of dome. All cast Aluminum and wood.
 
It does if you want a larger size print, no?
 
I also think there is better dust management and image control when projection printing to 1:1 with an enlarger, assuming 8x10 is large enough print size.
 
I've seen these up close. Reminds me of a Bridgeport mill! Cast iron, handwheel adjustments, I wish that I had an 8x10 camera just for the enlarger :smile:
