Elon & Hydroquinone powder-- light sensitive?

I have stored some Elon and Hydroquinone in 1 quart, clear mason jars with a saran wrap (cling film) barrier between the lid and the chemical, but have noticed today the Elon appears to be taking on a very slight lavender tint.

Just wondering if I need to be storing these chemicals in total darkness?

Normally they are stored in brown bottles, Metol (Elon) is naturally a very slight lavender colour, although yours may have darkened a little. Chemicals are best stored away from the light in a cupboard, for safety as much as anything else.

Storing in a dark place makes sense, they will last longer.

My Metol is about at least 20 years old, in original brown bottles. But ambient heat for many years, Denver winter to summer in garage. I just used some last night; it's a slight brown. But I've never had any indication that it isn't working just fine.
