The monarchy is a far more polarizing in countries that have constitutional monarchy, except Canada evidently.
Gee I do not have any problem discussing the British royal family pros and cons without getting emotionally wound up. It is a historical entity, rich on history and now with questions about relevance versus costs versus need.
I feel there should be a separate thread for monarchy bashing.
This thread imho should simply be a RIP thread.
I think this is quite amazing to watch. Think of the technology of photography and television. What amazing changes during the last 70 years.
Title is Elizabeth II.
Feel free to make a condolences page.
...who just passed away. Show a little respect, please.
Ha!
I think I'll go and throw some more tea in the harbor. Or maybe not get hauled away by the police for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.
Don't waste good tea!
What a description of the royal family, "pros and cons".

Duh. Let me guess, although normally the US would not need that and getting rid of the Electorial College would fix things.
Please, kids, no politics.
The last time the UK had a pretender, it was Bonnie Prince Charlie. Our pretender has none of the intelligence, charm, wit and legal claim. To take it easy on the monitors.
The new king spoke about the heavy burdens of being king. The only burdens that seem obvious are the need to make formal addresses to conferences such as the one I attended long ago, cutting ribbons for opening shopping malls, and a Christmas message. Perhaps could add being pope of the Anglican Church. But these burdens are accompanied by a very generous allowance.
Perhaps I’m missing something, so perhaps members who are British subjects could fill me in.
