Elitechrome availability?

Adorama has it. B&H marks EB-100 as discontinued. I sent them an email about this, but they didn't change the listing. Anyone know if this and ED-200 are current products?

And B&H doesn't even list EBX; hasn't in years. But Adorama does.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was discontinued. Apparently E100GX has been discontinued, but I know nothing concerning the other films.

It looks like Ektachrome may be slowly on its way out like Kodachrome.

I don't believe anything from B&H website anymore. There are no notes on the Kodak site. A couple of months ago, B&H listed Kodachrome as discontinued when is wasn't. I think they have computer glitches. Maybe when something is out of stock it is automatically listed as discontinued.

If you listen to the Inside Analog Photo interview with Kodak, you will probably conclude that the Ektar 100 is supposed to be Kodak's replacement for E6 films.

None of the B&H confusion surprises me...

They were listing Forte films as back-ordered for a solid 18 months after Forte Photo folded.

I supposed it could be discontinued, but B&H is often confused.

I was taking a look at 7day shop prices and found this under the E100GX:
"These are our final stocks as Kodak are now set to Discontinue GX range of films - Designed to respond to diverse shooting environments. Use E100G "

But they say nothing about elitechrome discontinuance/discontinue.

I believe that Kodak will end someday offering only negative film, and Fuji Taking all the slide business.
Let's see if one of these days I can get some Elitechrome or Ektachrome into my hands, got to try the second one, since it's the second kodak flagship after Kodachrome.

GOOD! I just discovered E100GX and love it...both for projecting and scan/print. If only I had the money for a color head, ciba paper, and ciba chems.

I just went into a local camera shop to drop off some slide to have them scanned (they don't process ANY film). I noticed about 35 rolls of Elite Chrome on the counter. When I went back to pick up the film, a little more than half of those rolls were GONE! Over here in Southeastern Mass, film is VERY weak. I can't believe it!

I just spoke with Kodak today, and it is official that they disconinued Elite Chrome in 24 exp rolls. I liked them when I didn't have much to shoot.

I have heard from Freestyle, B&H, and Adorama that Kodak E200 has been discontinued. A friend of mine and I purchased the remaining stock at all locations, sorry. This was the 120 format. I believe this discontinuance will effect the 35mm version as well. Looks like all Kodak chrome films are on their way out. Too bad. Fuji stands to gain here.

I was told by Kodak here in the UK a few weeks ago that E200 had been discontinued.

It is my understanding that the production of high-speed E-6 films (e.g. E200) has traditionally required the use of Rhodium salts. The recent Provia 400X is said to be an exception.

Rhodium is NOT cheap.

If you were to look at a price chart of Rhodium over the past 18 months...it should give you a pretty good idea as to why production of these films may no longer make sense.

My guess (and it's only that...a guess) is that Kodak might have made the decision to discontinue E200 more than a year ago.
