Ektachrome Warming Filter Examples

I want to shoot some Ektachrome, but do not want the blue-ish look. I have read different filter suggestions, including skylight and 81a(b,c) warming filters. But no matter how hard I try, I can't find examples of these filters being used on Ektachrome so that I can know what will best suit what I am looking for.

Does anyone have any examples of these filters with Ektachrome that they would like to share?

Thank you - that is exactly what I was looking for! I appreciate that one of the photos were specifically pointed out for not having had the white balance manipulated after scanning.

That guy also produces pleasing photos.

81 series filters are yellow-amber, and the kind of thing used for that Godfather movie look. Going from 81, 81A, 81B, 81C, etc, they get stronger. And unless you're trying to make a Sicilian mobster movie, anything stronger than 81A might look overdone. The European KR series is more pinkish-amber, a rather subtle distinction.

Just driving through our now dry inland agricultural valley with its veil of smoke and smog a couple days ago, everything had that Godfather movie glow on its own - no filter needed.

Closing the loop here as it’s always better when a thread reaches some kind of conclusion… I have recently used a few rolls of E100 trying to dial it in. A few stupid mistakes aside it’s going well.

I ended up buying a couple Tiffen 812 filters and find that they do a great job of balancing the bluish tendencies of E100. I’ve come to the conclusion that an 812 stays on each lens as a default, and is only removed or replaced with something else when needed.

The closer I get to figuring out E100 the more I like it.

I always use Skylight 1A filters and never had a problem over many decades. Whatever you choose, just use the same type of filter on everyone of your lenses or you will see a difference.

I have recently started using a Tiffen 812 filter when shooting Ektachrome and much prefer the results I get overall. It might be too much in full sun, but anything cooler than that and Ektachrome just gets super blue and the filter works great.
