As I remember - my last Ektachromes
(amateuric version) were real cheap :
$ 34,- (10 x 135 -36).
I also remember the proffessional Ektachrome in a 20 x 135-36 pack - the price was $80,- but I have to state it was a special price in 2006 !
The films were with expiration date
8 month later
What are you wishes to Kodak for a realistic pricing of new Ektachrome today.
As you may know it should be 135-36 films.
Other formats are not avaible (first).

Cheaper than Fuji's E6 would be nice, although I'm not holding my breath. I'd probably be happy if it costs a tenner, I pay almost 9€ for Precisa 100.

If B&H, or Adorama, have the new Ektachrome at $10-12 USD/roll, I'll be buying the film by the brick. Processing, of course, would be additional.

First wondering about - you will pay in € in the US ? But I just see you are from Greece - Anon Ymous :wondering:..
Thats also fine but I have located you allways from the US :D.
Well - I agree with you 100% ( nearly 9 bucks would be nice ).
But for this price Kodak would sponsor you Ektachrome with 3bucks per film - I supposed that production cost is also higher than from Fuji.
But you may have a little remaining chance from your higher rated currency?

You are right - in addition labs will get us pulled the fur over our ears in 2018 - we should be prepared.

I have no interest in any slide film at all, at any price....except possibly for Kodak E100G in 4x5 and even then, I'd only be interested if there were a local pro lab to process it.

I sure hope Kodak follows thru, slide film is the reason I still shoot film. It is a beautiful, vibrant, real image that can be enjoyed simply looking at it or via projection. Offers distinct differentiation to digital, that negative film basically doesn't. Easy to home process at low cost. Hard to understand why some have no interest in it, and instead prefer a product that can only be easily enjoyed after conversion to digital via the hassles of scanning and photoshopping.(unless you have a color enlarger and darkroom...)

Due to slide films beauty, I almost always reach for it when loading one of my cameras. If lighting is too contrasty, I usually get out my Lumix nowadays, I still like Portra and sometimes use it, but I now think it's just so much extra work for something that is basically a digital image that can easily and automatically be processed in the press of a button with my digital camera.

But to answer the question, 10-12USD would be great, although I would probably pay a bit more.

Pukalo - let me short ask : " How long is your experience in photography at all ? "

I can develop and print black & white and make a print exactly to my satisfaction; a lab can print color much better than I can. I don't own a scanner or any digital postprocessing application. I have an enlarger and lens I bought in 1972 - no digital enlargement.

I have no interest in looking at tiny slides nor do I want to project slides to see my photos. A print in the hand or on the wall is far more satisfying to me: it shows me much more detail than slides I've seen projected onto someone's textured wall or on their annoyingly-beady screen.

To me, Kodachrome and Ektachrome is a ciné film and the only way I've used it.

However, I know some people love slides - no problem. I hope Kodak, Fuji, whoever, continues to make slide film so that you and others can enjoy it.

You added "unless you have a color enlarger and a darkroom" as if its something difficult to obtain. Most people with any darkroom at all (which I presume is most people on the analog section ) have everything they need to print color, except perhaps color printing filters or a color head, and those are easy and inexpesive to obtain. It can be done in trays or tubes, which most people already have. It is not at all expensive or difficult to learn.

And yes, that's the reason I'm not interested in slide film anymore. I want to print. I would be interested, if there was direct positive print material still available.

I am hoping for $10 but think it may be higher.

Chan Tran my hope is still on your side
but (sorry to state now) it will be indeed higher ( $ 17,- - $ 21,50 a single roll 35mm Ektachrome ).
Have a look on Post # 471 on the closed
Kodachrome thread ( the first one below [the "Survey Kodachrome" one] )
There I pointed it out in the minutest details.

Yes - thats a good point (in general) - thinking of billions of digital shots wich are just for the screen.
But it has not so much to do if E6 either C41 are on demand - from my opinium. To both types of film there is a need.
Remember discussions from the 70th !
From mainstream photograpers (and I don't speak about the "new color photograpers" ) there was no need to bw films any more.
And wonder about - because today's offers on bw films are much taler in comparison to the remaining color negativ films  !

Fuji Provia 100F is around $10 so I hope Ektachrome is about the same. If it's twice as much I have to think twice and possibly not using it. I in the past always used Kodak products and thus I am waiting for Ektachrome but if they want twice as much as Fuji I think I would go for Fuji.

Fuji Provia 100F isn't a real bad film...:D..( I like Astia100F a little more) but Fuji
E6 films falls as price corective out soon.
Because Fuji is going to discontinue all
E6... (also sorry to state now...:errm: )

It needs to be cheaper than fuji's offerings. Precisa 100 can be found for 12 euros per 2-pack in germany, it's really hard to see them topping this.

It would be better if they actually managed to offer something that is not currently available, like a top quality iso 400 product or something with moderate contrast like the old Sensia/Astia.
