An anonymous friend of an anonymous internet poster said an anonymous Kodak official told him so. What more could you possibly need?
OK Wayne - hope you are lucky with the official statement of Kodak meanwhile. :kissing:

with regards

PS : Inofficial informations did make sense sometimes (Kodak wasn't sure to 4x5 inch to that time
[Okt2018] but I mentioned in the other threat (120 and more of that [greater Format].)

Are we friends again now ?

Good news and I'm glad to hear it but rumors are still rumors without supporting facts.

Has anybody recently heard anything definitive about medium or large format Ektachrome being released?

Medium Ektachrome isn't out up to now! But it is in plan to be released this year!

And (just if I am allowed to refer to #1 of my thread) :
Screenshot_20190509-171626~01.png

it is dependable to the final circumstances....!

But with a little luck we may see Ektachrome 120 indeed within this year!:D!
The issue up to 4x5 inch Ektachrome is the same! But my bet is :

Not before 2020!

What is with 8x10 inch Ektachrome then? I can't say Multiformat Shooter. I just could repeat what I was told via a friendly photographer who spoke with an Kodak official in Okt. 18! =
Bring back Ektachrome 120 next year (2019 ) and "serious thoughts" [plans] for additional
Format s!!!!
well - meanwhile there was an official statement (interview) if I remember correct it was a poadcast! concerning 4x5 inch!

I guess it is relative to 2 main factors (but this is just a guess [I was not told!!!]..)

1.) Fuji pricing beginning 2020 with 8x10 E6 sheeds

Because it is expensive for EK. to cut sheeds (8x10 in special case in comparison) = the demand
for 4 x 5 is allways much higher !
2.) Fuji discontinuation beginning 2020 (or end of this year)!
Possible Fuji will discontinue further films (it is not total unlikely - carefully formulated)

But my personal bet (this is just a speculation not more) is the following :

If EK is anouncing the avaibility of 4x5 Ektachrome
(sometime around 1/2 quarter 2020) they will anounce to come with 8x10
together (perhaps 8x10 2weeks later due to production priority)!

The 2. case (I will not bet but many many others do ) - around 2quarter 2020
EK will not exist anymore! Of course then we would not see further Ektachrome formats!

But no fear Multiformat Shooter - you will load your sheeds from Ektachrome next year!
No fear friends!!!!!!!

with regards

PS : Official source.....hm that's something special !

Said this many times before: stop spreading rumours Trendland. Your topics are writting in such a gibberish that it only confuses people. Please state a source with your findings. This is not the first time you spread things as a fact while you provide zero proof to your statements.

kruiwagen  excuse me pls. but when I've just read the beginning of this thread out of Okt.18
again I've read your post and remember:D:laugh:!

Seriously - let me ask : there is zero proof indeed for your statement in your post #25 ..right:wink:!

with regards

PS : No worries kruiwagen because :" shit can happen " :pinch:

Quite right - I came to the same conclusions. Nevertheless I will not hope Fuji will proceed with discontinuation orgies like we saw during the last years.
But I expect it (if it will be done within long term or short term is the remaining question).
The same is with Kodak - who knows? But there is a main difference to Fuji.
You might hear of discontinuation from Fuji E6 within next weeks (or you might hear from massive price increasement what to most photographers will be nearly the same) but Kodak isn't able to proceed in that way during a short therm.
Otherwise they will louse reputation in total. And (I guess) Kodak may imagine this.
And today it makes no sense at all. So an upcomming next format is real nice also to photographers who just need 35mm film and will never use a higher format.
Because it will show that there is also hope for a longer term in general.
Theoreticaly the same hope is with Fuji E6 because sales should be increased from the bottom down.
Theoreticaly ? But (not to forget) the Film departement of Fuji (special with E6) is a smaler niche on Fujis total earnings in comparison to Kodak.
You also may think : It is the same ! But there is a complete difference.
To Kodak it has potential (the Film earnings) nethertheless in total these earnings are not with great sums. The potential Fuji is looking for is based today on cosmethics:sick:......
Strange days - today.

The Fuji Foundation, a non-principled institution, is a pragmatic enterprise whose ultimate goal is to achieve the highest possible profitability. It launches a common practice in order to retreat from it in order to raise the price by 30%.
- I hate that very institution.
- The invention of the color film was the share of only two companies, Kodak and Agfa,
The first experiments from Agfa were in 1935 and were not successful, but less than a year later, Kodak produced the first successful color film, and then Agva researched until it reformed its own film and re-released it,
At this time Fuji was not present.
Because of the division of AGFA into two companies because of the division of Germany during the World War, the Communists then unveiled the AGFA program for all companies benefiting Russian, Yugoslavian and Ukrainian companies. In this respect, the Italian company Ferreña, Fuji and Konica benefited. And years later came the Chinese Lucky.
- Yes, it is true that it tried to develop the formula to give the status of innovation on its products, but without communist rule was not Fuji and Konica and 3m.
- A damned company that benefited from the decisions of the communists and built its empire with a little effort, development and research, but got the basic formula of the company free of charge.
- Now you want the company to control the analog market by following a lot of tricks and diabolical plans.

-) It were US forces who first got hold of Agfa personnel and documents, not the soviet.
Due to US occupation, both US and UK teams could investigate and confiscate.

-) These investigation were of course intended for the benefit for the victorious allied countries, NOT for the surrendering countries.

-) With succeeding soviet occupation things repeated. Finally a large group of Agfa employees had to settle in Ukraine for some years.

-) Ferrania introduced their colour film already in 1942, based on the Agfacolor principle.

Agree 100% Fuji does not make a good job since years!
Looking at Ferrania - they have so many problems such little money but they do their task
(Respect!!!) - Fuji is soo big and increasing prices horrable - a shame!!
