Hello,

I noted on the J & C website that it states it is advised to wet the film in water prior to developing?

I use a Lauder 76 developer; it appears it has about the same properties as Kodak D-76? Thank you.

I have only developed one roll of efke 50 and I didn't pre-soak. And it turned out fine!
Never heard of Luder 76!

Correction-Lauder 76.

Sorry.

I always pre-soak. With Efke R50 the water comes out deep purple after a couple of minutes. Maybe JandC has found that removing that dye before development affects the results.

I do presoak as SOP, and have found that if dev times are less than 5 minutes it may help

Try both, and decide yourself.
