Well I just noticed that Ed Weston shared a birthday with my dad, but my dad was born in 1927. And speaking of the Westons, two weeks ago my wife and I sauntered into a local antique store and I noticed two prints for sale:

So, I had to bring them home for what amounts to a song. Note that Brett was only 18 when he made this image. Never thought we'd own a Weston and now we own two. They are going to need some conservation work, but well worth it!

 OK, Kerik. I've always admired your work, but now I'm just seriously jealous of you!

Really now, Kerik...that is just too awesome. Amazing find...the universe is looking out for you!

Thread title and OP updated to coincide with linear of time.

May 9th will also be Edward Weston's birthday.

Edward died the year I was born, although at opposite ends. Happy birthday, Edward!

This is bizarre, how can someone who has been dead and buried for more than fifty years have a " happy birthday"

Quite an historic date Merg. Would you care to share any thoughts from that day?
Thank you, Robert, for your interest and coaxing.

I have many fond memories from my friendship of forty years with Brett; some of them I have shared on this public forum. However, there are some that are best savored privately. Certainly, to be with Brett on the day that his father died was such a memory. Perhaps there will be a time that I will feel comfortable sharing these memories. I hope that you understand.
Regards,
Merg

Completely, Merg,

I would hope that such memories are written down somewhere for at least future generations.

Respectfully,
