It's not really redevelop. Once C41 developing in the developer, bleach and fix is done, it's done. We can't change the developing part. However if the film had a problem in the bleach, like your film (retained silver), by rebleaching and fixing you are in effect giving the film longer time in both chemicals and it will usually correct the fault.

You can't really over bleach your C41 film as the bleach process is to completion. So an extra minute or two in bleach & fix won't harm the film. The 1 minute in bleach is really for C41 lab processing machines, if doing at home I would suggest longer, 2-3 minutes.

He uses a minilab apparently, so he's pretty much stuck with the rapid access times it provides.

My mistake, I missed that bit about the Noritsu minilab.

Retained silver in a minilab situation would suggest that maybe the replenishment of the bleach is incorrect (underactive bleach tank).

Does the OP run C41 control strips?

Do Vision3 films generally require longer bleaching/fixing? OP's C-41 films obviously don't suffer of under bleaching/fixing.

I wouldn't expect so (with the caveat that I've never processed ECN-2 film of any stripe). Bleach time ought to be primarily a function of bleach activity and silver grain size, and since Vision3 is known for fine grain, correct strength bleach ought to produce the necessary results in the same time on ECN-2 film as it would on C-41 stock.

Now, I've used Flexicolor bleach for some years, but I've always given the C-41 small tank recommended bleach time (four minutes, IIRC, I'm not at my home computer where I have the documentation stored). If the bleach in use isn't Rapid Access type/strength, that may be the problem.

Me neither, but I don't actually know for sure. But I'd be surprised if there was much of a difference. In terms of grain technology, Vision3 films aren't fundamentally different from Portra, it seems.

Yeah, I considered that, so I checked, but Champion Mydoneg (and OP stated he uses Champion) appears to be RA alright, designed for a 50 second bleach time at 38C.
