I had an old thread on this same topic:

I was going to revive it, but it just seemed wrong, since the final post was from the legendary late PE.

So, while I would still advise you to read or skim that thread before posting in this one, here is a new thread.

And another one here:

12+ years later, as interest in this type of film has increased, there is finally a legit commercial lab offering the processing. And the prices are reasonable, too:

Atlanta Film Co., via Dunwoody Photo (not sure if these are separate companies or the same one)

Dunwoody Photo
5500 Chamblee Dunwoody Road
Ste 6A
Dunwoody, GA 30338
USA

678-320-0202

Processing is by Kodak Motion Picture Film Lab Atlanta.

I also bought one of the QWD kits, but haven't attempted to get into color processing yet.

This is really good news, though. I figured someone would eventually offer this service.

One thing I want to ask them is if they will return negs cut and sleeved. I dislike processed still film being rolled up, as it never lays flat again in my experience. This should, imho, be in their FAQ, but is not.

More info I found:

Quote from the above article:

"Dunwoody Photo’s Michael Beattie and Christina Haley are also co-founders of Atlanta Film Co. The idea to offer colour cine film to customers stemmed from frustrations with the low and infrequent supply from manufacturers on top of the retail and distribution model that adds to the price mark up."

They do cut and sleeve the negatives. I had them develop some Flic Film Cine-Color 250D, and it came-back cut in to strips of four.

How was your experience? Remjet all cleared out? Any scratches on the negative? Color all good?

I'm a bit tired of doing ecn-2 by myself, and interested in a good lab with reasonable price. Thanks

I have to say that I was pleased with the overall experience. I did not see any remjet residue or scratches, and the colors looked good. The actual processing is done by Kodak Motion Picture Film Lab Atlanta (Atlanta Film Co FAQ page).

If I may ask did you have them scan it? The list of scanning options... by file size gives no real description of what they're using and how they're doing it. Anyone know?

I had them scan it at the "Extra Large 12 MP" size, which is 6774x4492. The scanner is a Noritsu, based upon the metadata in the files. The scans are also "regular" as opposed to the "log" scans, that are used for actual movies.

I was happy with their service, and have more film being processed/scanned by them, right now.
