I believe KODK is mainly a commercial printing and imaging company these days so the 25%+ fall in its share price today is not a reflection on the profitability of its silver gelatin coating operation which apparently comprises only a small part of its market capitalisation.

Kodak is TRYING to be a printing company. They are not succeeding at that. Film sales cannot sustain Kodak. That's very clear.

In U.K. phraseology "popping" might at least indicate exploding as in blowing itself up, so many British readers might not see a contradiction with the "tanking" thread but it still seems ridiculous to have both threads almost next to each other especially in view of the news of the last few days

Mods, isn't it time we at least altered this title so that it does not appear that Kodak shares are both getting better and much worse at the same time

Yesterday and today most stocks are dropping. Evidently the stock market does not like the proposed tax plans.

Most stocks fell about 1% or less, not the 28% Kodak fell. Investors bailed on Kodak in a big way, as they have been doing all year long (-80% in the trailing year).

Anyone check Eastman Kodak's stock price lately? It's up 50% in the last 3 months! That's waaay above average performance. I wonder what is going on with their business to warrant such a huge increase in stock price.

Not sure it's film related but still interesting to see the health of the parent company of Kodak Alaris doing well.
Ratty - the stock ALLWAYS has nothing to do with the situation of a company today.
It has only to do with the future and with results in the past (sometimes in the far behind)
To be correct I have to state "with the changing of the perspective"
So it might be analysts say to Kodak : "They possibe faile with all there plans"
This analyst coment to Kodak is basis of the stock pricing.
Now they might say :"We're not so sure - perhaps Kodak will not faile with just two of their plans - we have doubts remaining : But in concern of the relative low course we are raiting Kodak at "strong buy" till a course of $ 5,90 !!!!"
This coment of Goldman Sachs could double the pricing in very short time.
Now it is on you RattyMOUSE !

STRONG BUY - did you notice !
with regards
