Need to bust loose some cash for a conference I'm going to next month . . so . . that means I dig into the collection and pick out something nice!
This is a beautiful old brass cannon. No idea who made it, but from the machining and style I'll guess it at 1870 and be very close.
The glass is nice and clean, and it's in very nice shape for it's age. Brass is scuffed here and there but generally has a nice patina. It presents very well.
I've posted a page of images done with this on the 8X10 here, so you can have a look and see how it covers that format (it doesn't), and what the swirlies look like.
I got neither a flange or any waterhouse stops with this when it came to Tonopah. I DID have fun using it. It's a fine old optic, and has some nice swirls. Need $645 for this. Plus something for the mailman.
