Don't even think about Hydrofluoric Acid. That will remove the stains, though, before the tank itself dissolves.![]()
Here it does not dissolve the tar but the glass under it so the crud floats free. Even though HF is a weak acid it necrotizes flesh even after a very brief contact.
HF will quickly turn human flesh into a jelly like mass that just sloughs away from the person who contacts it. It is ghastly.
The 'weak acid' factor makes the situation worse, since even fluorides are nasty, pretty much the same situation as with cyanides and sulfides.I still have learnt something I didn't know (HF is a weak acid), so I have to thank you guys.
