Usually when a manufacturer sells a product direct they sell it for full retail. There is no discount. The reason for this is quite simple. They get more exposure if many local shops sell their product and they sell more total product as a result. Local shops won't sell their items if they are undercut by the manufacturer. Also consider that it is not necessary cheaper for the manufacturer to sell direct to the public then it is for a savvy retailer to do so. It usually works out best to just offer wholesale discounts to mass sellers like Adorama, B&H or Freestyle. They then resell it for less than full retail
