@sasah zib So it's 1950-ish (at latest) Super-XX in that case - was there much of a demarcation as to preferences for making seps on glass or film for dye transfer (as opposed to carbro etc) in that pre-Estar era? As far as I can tell, the use of glass seps and retouching the seps, rather than contrast & colour correction masking (largely for the reasons you point out) was the preference in much of the roto/ sheetfed gravure world over here until the advent of polyester base film (and drum scanning at about the same time).
