Hi Everyone,

If anyone in Euorpe has a working TRA/EST 450 or 500 not needed any more, I would be happy to buy that. I've been trying to fix mine for my CLS 450 head (replacing capacitors, burnt resistors...) but couldn't manage and didn't find any electrician who could help. I could use a replacement power supply but I am not sure how to do re-wiring of the 8-pin connector (couldn't find out based on the wiring diagram which pins are for the fan, the supplement light and the main bulb) and would also loose the supplement light on the colour head.

Thanks a lot!

Tamas

I have a Durst TRA 301 in the states if that helps any, but it's for a CLS 301, the 5x7 version.

Thanks a lot Luis. Unfortunately the 301 is not 24V/250W, there are plenty of them on the market.

in the UK Maplin seem able to supply a lot electrical stuff that will act as a perfectly good replacement if you look through their offerings.

have you tried Northern Photo, you may get lucky but I doubt it will be as cheap as Maplin.
You may be able to send it to them for repair if it isn't completely shot.

I think they may not be open everyday or finish early on a Friday. Not sure.

Depending on where you are in Europe, shipping a TRA450 could prove to be expensive - They are heavy little blighters... I have one as a spare sitting under a bench in my darkroom.

If you need any help determining exactly what each pin does, pester me by way of PM/email, and I'll double check the pins on mine with a meter.

Would be weird to see a transfo that's broken. Anyways, if it really is. Just buy any other transfo with the same specs, change the connector and done. Doesn't really matter.

The EST for my 1200 also has gone. tried several times to replace parts with no result. As I ahve found many of them will die due to aging of the components.

Today I am using a transformator for LED, actively cooled and stabilized ... for less than 50 Euro

I just found this thread via Google.
Someone offered me a laboratory with CLS 450 head, but unfortunately without psu.

Can you please give more information on the LED transformer?
Which one do you use? And how did you wire the head to the transformer?

Cheers,
Robert

Hi Robert,

just took a look into my post box, I probably have deleted my order.

As I am working far apart from home I have to take a look at home on the week which model I bought. I will psot it here (if I don't forget it ;-) )

Hi.my quesition is,that Sistem Works well?i finding a alternative to the durst Tra805(durst m805 color}

Hello, i had a cls 450 head on a laborator 1000 that used 220v for the fan and 24v for the light bulb... I had to use a direct line for the fan and a transformer for the bulb...
It works...

For m805 the voltage is the same for the fan and for the bulb... So you can use a good led driver of 24v and it will work.

Cumprimentos!!!

I also have a m805 and its a very good enlarger and is worth the trouble...

Oh thanks! How many watts has the 24v driver for the bulb?is easy to Make those conections?obrigado

If in doubt you can take the head to any eletrician, or if you live on Porto take it to Sr. Jorge Pereira, a very good photo technician.

But the connections are straight forward.
The power should be a bit over the power needed: 250w + around 50w for the fan. But i would teu to find a 350 to 400w 24v Trafo, they exist!

Cumprimentos

In case somebody can use any of these files, I came across them today. Wiring diagram for TRA 450 says it all, all three versions are shown.

Good night Rui.
Do you make the connections for the fan (220v) and for the lamp (24v) by two separate and independent routes, or do you use the next cable for something?
obrigado

For 805 you just need a trafo, driver or transformador, when the enlarger is turned on through the timer it turns on the fan and the light.
That is the original configuration
No need to bi wire

Good night .
I have tried with the 220-24v converter and the light (250watt) turns on perfectly, but the fan does not turn on, so it gets very hot. Does the fan activate when the lamp is turned on or does it take a while? Is it to know if the fan is broken, or maybe the fan runs at 12 or 220v? Another question that I would like to know is if I could use a lamp with less power, such as 100 or 50 watts? Would it affect the quality of the enlargements? thank you

Thread is getting confusing for reasons I don't know ... started off with TRA 450 question and some responses mention M805 enlarger.

Are you still asking about TRA 450 (L1200 enl.) ? If so, it's already been stated in the thread fan runs on 220V, lamp on 24V.

The fan can be stuck, mine was... You need to disassemble it and rotate to unstuck it, you can also put some silicon oil lubricant on the nylon axis holders ...
It was very easy to do!
