Hi,

Can anyone of you inform me wether a Durst Paperspend papersafe is a good item to keep your paper in? If not what papersafes do you use and what do you like and dislike about them?

Thanks,

The Durst Paperspend34 safes are very good, robust and quite professional. They support papers of up to 30x40cm in size and the safe can be made "internally" smaller by moving the rear and side "walls". They were, however, quite expensive and have been out-of-production for over 10 years. The current Kinderman safes (still available) are also quite good--- with these one just get a different safe for each size--- but have gotten to be absurdly expensive. What's nice about the Durst safes is the latching door so its better suited to moving papers about in the darkroom. In combination with a paper cutter its probably the better solution but in day-to-day use the Kindermann is still hard to top.. With plastic papers and and 8x10" or smaller what is very nice are the old Kindermann safes that were made by Restem. With these one pushes a door and can pull out automatically indivividual sheets of paper. This is very convienient....
