Durst Multigraph

I am looking for a manual for the Durst Multigraph enlarging head. I already have the Ilford manual version, but the control unit is a bit different.

if you are saying the control unit is not a Durst one then you are going to need to tell people whose it is otherwise how are they are going to know what it is they are supposed to be telling you about.

Rob, There are at least two versions of Multigraph control Units. The one depicted in the Ilford Multigraph manual looks a bit different from the one in the Durst broshure. The Manual for the Ilford branded version is on the net, the one for the Durst version is not, and sought for.
(Though in the past a fellow from Apug offered it.)

I just would buy the manual from Durst.

Where did you buy your enlarger? Does the timer work properly, that is, if you put 10 seconds on your timer, does it actually run 10 seconds, or other time set by the enlarger probe?

Hi Danielkgreen, strangely enough I received on my PM a message from APUG with your loving comments about the Multigraph bur when going to the thread on the Forum your message doesn't appear. Hi,
sorry for replying so late. It seems that there are two versions of the control unit. The older one does only support one paper storage. Also the control unit's labeling seems to be a bit different - no paper label. I bought the enlarger second hand, it is working perfectly. Two days ago, I did some tests on Ilford Multigrade Warmtone RC, I used the settings given in the Ilford manual, did a paper calibration and it worked very well. When I put in 10, it does not expose 10 sec.
I already started an inquiry at Durst and Ilford. Ilford does not have any support for the multigrade head any more. Durst sent me the manual of the newer version (with 5 papers slots). I also asked for a new firmware - which should work, as the PCB seems to be the same, but Durst Italy does not provide it anymore, Durst USA would charge $ 750 - which of course does not make any sense.
Can/wants anybody to read his EPROM with a flash programming tool (paper storage version) - I could then flash my EPROM with the newer version.
Another question is how to set for papers which are not in the manual. Should one set it to the setting in the paper manual - dual filter settings - for uniform exposure. Or do you test it your own?

These are closed loop systems. When you start exposure the light is analyzed and then the shutter opens. When you set 10 on the controller, it is a sort of "time reference". The actual exposure time will depend on how old is your lamp and its brand, the current tension etc...Sometimes the exposure will be longer than 10 sec, sometimes shorter. The end result is that when dialing 10 on the controller, whatever the actual lenght of exposure, this one will be consistent through time.
