This is a lens mount for a Durst enlarger. If I recall correctly, it's a 'deep' lens mount, lets you mount the lens a bit farther back. There's a better description I'm certain, but I can't think of it at the moment.

What is the OD, the Outside Diameter of the beveled ring where it attaches to the enlarger?

It goes to the larger Dursts ( S-45, 138, 139 ). It enables one to use 50 MM lenses for 35 MM film which has to get up closer to the negative and over come the thickness of the bellows.
The lens become then difficult to open/close etc.; but leave it to Durst they have a "handle" that become a drop down handle for the aperatures. Yet, "it" becme a bear too while dodging or burning in. It is not worth alot, but make good trade material.

The outer diameter is about 77-78mm. Eric do you want it or something? If so PM me. Thanks Clueless, I guess that makes sense, but I never use my S-45 for 35mm so I never put two and two together.

Durst made the Latub for most models of its enlargers, to allow a short focal length lens to be used. The big models, like the L184 for 8x10, used one with about an 8-inch outer diameter and would recess the lens 2 or 4 inches into the bellows. The big ones don’t need a handle for the aperture, because they are big enough for your hand. The one you have is for the smaller models, like the L1200 or L1000 for 4x5, among others. I’m not sure about all the smaller models, but the L1200 uses a Latub with a 28mm recess to focus a 50mm lens. There are even deeper recessed ones. They are somewhat rare, so I would guess the value of the one you have at around $30 or so….

Oopps ! I should have pulled out the drawer and looked to be more accurate (I'll blame the Durst-eze language system). The Latub II has the internal lens gripper that allows the lining up of F/ and the external rotation to the f/ wanted for those short lenses. I.e., it is sophisticated and works and is worth $50 to $80 (USD) as a used item in the '70s.
