Don't, stop, did you say led array. I'm meant to be plastering the light leaks in my new darkroom. Look at what this guy has done Dead Link Removed. A 5x7 led array, if anyone knows of a guide to building one of these let me know, looks relatively simple (without the electronics) to rig up a simple blue/green array with dimmers. The future seems very bright
 
I can't comment on his electronics, I don't know a thing about them, but you can get things like this (see link below), pretty easily. Neither can I comment on creating a colour source - maybe if you looked deeper into the same site you'd find something. You only need a couple of sheets of MG filter (00 & 5) to split grade.
But if I was starting from scratch I'd take a good look at LED's they run cool and they give lots of light, perfect for bodging a holder in plywood.
Best of all, doing it this way you're avoiding all the centering and evenness issues with a colour head, just make sure the array is a bit bigger than the biggest neg you intend to print.
