I got a Durst Laborator 1200 and a CLS 500 for so cheap .. I couldn't let this one go. It hasn't been used in 5-10 years and always kept inside with room temperature. I opened up the CLS 500 unit, as far as I could, tried to clean everything I could.

However, there is one screw that's rusty that I cannot open up so I can't open up the whole unit and get to the filters. The filters were pretty dusty and there is a tiny spot of dirt on every filter.

My question is:
- Can I clean the filters with glass cleaner? I just wiped them with a cloth
- Does the dirt spot matter?

Wiping should be fine the spot should not matter.
