Hello everyone, any suggestion between the two enlargers?

Durst is still in business, but out of the enlarger business, and for these do not service nor have spares.
In complete contrast to Kienzle.

I only know the Durst L1200,which is excellent and build like a tank but Kienzle also has a very good reputation and still around.

Hi, Ralph. Thanks for the reply. The thing is that I now have a friend who can locate a brand new stock L1200 for similar price for its counterpart from Kienzle. My main concern is that the accessories for a durst may not easily to be found nowadays. On the other hand, I heard that Kienzle can put multigrade and colour modulars into one enlarging head, which is very intriguing.

My L1200 has the Ilford Multigrade 500 head for variable contrast printing. I also have a CLS500 dichroic head should i want to stop using the MG500.

Durst parts come up regularly on the auction site.

It is easier in Europe to get parts for Durst but either way, get your check book out. both are expensive.Without price advantage, I'd go for the L1200;parts are available if you are patient.
