I have been trying to procure a lens for 6x6 that would fit my durst 606 enlarger and finally found one. The Lens board looked very similar but had bevels on both sides of the board where my 50mm lens board has a beveled only one side. It seems to fit but seems like it might be a different diameter by about 1 or 2 mm. Would the diameter difference offset the lens enough to make a difference? I sure love my durst enlarger but the accessories are Extremely COMPLICATED with everything having its own name and number and there is very little info to be found online (that I have found).

yeah -- stupid italians. I had new glass cut for the 4 by 5 holder on my durst laborator 1000 and the guy who cut it has a lot of durst-sized glass in stock, but not that one.

Not 4 by 5? Not a standard size, apparently. So he cut me some, but pointed out that just about ever damn Durst enlarger has different specs.

Like i said: Stupid Italians. Too bad they made such good stuff.

I have a 606 too. The manual is available online, and will help a lot w/ the %^$$#@ lens boards. You could easily spend more for a few lens boards than the entire enlarger when it comes to Dursts, and they are, as you said, needlessly complicated, especially the names and what they may, or may not, work with. Here's the manual below. I was furious that I couldn't use my good Nikkor lenses in mine. Had to buy Schneiders w/ those little bitty threads on them (25mm?). At least you have a board w/ the 39mm threads for your Nikkor. As long as your lens board will go in and sit flush, and that retaining screw that holds it snug will hold it up w/o light leakage, you're fine.

I'm pretty sure yours is the ixopla, and yes, it should work work fine either way. Page 19 of the manual gives you the skinny on these boards. Nice enlargers, but give me an Omega B600 or C700 any day. You can make negative carriers out of mat board, and the lens boards are....there aren't any. You just screw that 39mm Nikkor right in there and start enlarging.

Ixopla, Siriopla, Lapla; and Ixotub, Siriotub, and Latub.

Herewith a picture of the double-bevelled Ixotub - I think the Ixo prefix applies to anything that fits the 606, and probably some other Durst enlargers as well. I believe the double bevel was so that the lens panel could be inserted either way up allowing normal enlargement on the baseboard from 35 mm, or greatly reduced prints when reversed.
I picked up a Latub soon after I bought my 606 as the 606 came with the flattish Ixopla and a 90mm lens for 6 x 6, and of course a 50mm lens for 35 mm film won't focus unless in a Tub. My solution is seen. The Lapla and sirioplas are a few mm narrower, and the single bevel flange is just wide enough to allow cut pieces of matchstick to be superglued to the point where the flange sits under the 2 lugs in the lens panel holder; another (not seen) is glued diametrically opposite for the thumbscrew to tighten (gently!) onto.
I used the enlarger for both 35 mm and 6 x 6 for years; what you see in the picture has stood up to many lens panel changes.
Try it; it certainly saved me because I had no choice if I wanted to print 35 mm negs. And I couldn't see any distortion or uneven illumination on prints often up to 20 x 16.

Looking at your pics, the double-bevelled panels which are slightly wider are Ixos. They come up occasionally on the auction site bit not as often as the Sirios and Laps. Not sure where the Setos come in. But the match stick trick converts Laps and Sirios to Ixo. Oh and they all come with either Leica or Schneider thread fittings. Watch the auction site in European countries.

Momus, thanks for the link to the manual. I have tried finding one online but could not find one for some reason

Now I feel excessively stupid, I have a M601 not 606. I went and looked at the manual and my enlarger is different.

Summicron, where did you get the glass from? I have an M605 and would like to get some new AN glass for mine.
