hi dave

i haven't made / exposed dry plates in a while
( on the list of things-to-do though )

exposing them in camera was fun, but i had more fun using plates as
a glass internegative - and projecting from an enlarger onto them <g>

Yes - I've made a couple batches of dry plates. The first one the emulsion was runny and very thin, the second one looked like it was going to be good, but I fogged it my turning on the lights while the plates were drying... I've yet to try again, but I will.

I made this using Rockland Colloid AG+ a couple years ago. I'll have to dig out my other experiments.

The key in dry plate emulsion is the contrast and shadow details. Emulsions made originally for printing is too high contrast and in particular too steep contrast in the shadow region (poor shadow details).

What emulsions have people used for their plates? I've used Ag+ before I'm feeling the need to get more ambitious this summer. Has anyone had luck with the formula described on unblinkingeye.com?
