Great video - thanks for posting.

Easy centering with a scrap of paper.

I have a Seal press at the school darkroom where help out, but this is great to know about. One tip I use for centering is to place left edge of the print against the left edge of the mount board, and then I take a clean scrap of paper and fold it the length remaining from the right edge of the print to the right edge of the mount board. I then fold that piece exactly in half, so now I have a piece of paper which is the distance of the centered print to either edge, and I use that to position the print. I do the same thing top to bottom assuming I don't want to weight the bottom.

Wonderful demonstration, many thanks for going to the effort of producing this video.

Mick.

Christopher,
thank you for this very instructive video - I just bought a cheap mounting press off eBay and your video helped me to figure out which steps I needed to do outside the press - like the tagging of the tissue to the print and then again the tagging to the board. Thanks for putting the time in to make this video - it's people like you who keep me bringing back to this forum every day!

Thanks Christopher! It's a real money saver!

Christopher,
I viewed your file, and appreciate your generosity in sharing. Many of my students would love to mount their work at home, and your methods are good for folks without much equipment.
I would suggest one piece of equipment to you, that would speed things up, as well as giving you a bit more accuracy; the Falcon print positioner. It's a kind of plastic t-square that allows you to position the print perfectly in a few seconds. I believe it's still available from B&H for 11.95.

If it's allright with you, I'd like to provide a link to the video from my website for my students. Thanks again for making it.
Steven

You may link to anything, yes

I will have to look up that print position device, never heard of one, it sound it like it could be useful for more than positioning a print, if its anything like I imagine it seems like it could be useful for drawing out lines for a window mat that is about to be cut

Hi, Christopher, Thanks a lot for this. I did few dry mount following this method and I love the result.
