Is there any dangers to black and white film (including xp2 type) by the use of KAMI fluid or any other similar fluid used for drum scanning. Does the negative need to be cleaned afterwards or is there any residue.

Kami is very safe for all modern film. You will probably need to clean it afterwards, but it will not be much. I don't think Kami leaves any residue, but it does seem to dissolve some crap from the film or mylar and when it evaporates this is then left on the surface. I don't know how the other current drum scanning fluids like Lumina behave.

Kami is not dangerous at all for your negatives.
But I would suggest to clean your negs after scanning with a little bit of film cleaner.

Kami has ruined two of my drums. Made the drums go spider-web-cracking. Drums used with only SDS oil and gel i never had any problems with. I trew all my KAMI products in the trash bin and returned to producs proven great for years. So if you like to keep your drum, never use KAMI for oher purposes than staring a fire in your local forrest.

I have used Kami for years on two different drum scanners and so far have not had any problems. But I know others have reported the same crazing issues. My guess is some treatment on the drums makes them susceptible to crazing with Kami. So if you don't know the history of the drum I would also agree to avoid Kami.
