Double X and Ilsofol S

Hi,

I have a few double X rolls to develop and unfortunately i only got ilfosol S here in iran. i searched digitaltruth and the net for proper developing times but i can't find any info for ilfosol S. digitaltruth only has dev times for Ilfotec DD-X.

anyone can help me out?

Look at other films with Ilfosol-S and extrapolate from there.

really, though, you just can't go wrong. A little over or underdevelopment here or there will not kill you, especially if you use a scanner. Go with 6 minutes @ 20c and you should be ok.

the MD has ilfotec ddx times for 5222 but for IE 3200.

Pushing a 200-250 speed film to 3200 is a 4 stop push you might not get anything useable. The most I have done up to is 1600, and I didnt have good results and that was with Xtol and Rodinal semi-stand.

I dont have much experience with Ilsofol, but I dont think it is a high speed developer intended for this application of such a push. You can try adding 20% more time for each push you do and work it from there.

thanks.. i just mentioned it since that's the only info in digitaltruth for eastman 5222 using ilford dev..

still searching for an exact dev time. i will try to post on flickr group too.

I am working my way though 1000ft of this, and so far my favorite combo is to do 1:100 in rodinal semi-stand, for 1hr- 1hr30min, 2-3 flips at the halfway mark and to say a small prayer to the film gods when I open it up. been working so far quite well.

i wish i could be able to get double X again since these rolls are my last in my stash.

hopefully i could be able to get some other developer next time. maybe should try to make parodinal but not sure where to get chems here in our city.

Nothing special there. Just Paracetamol tablets and caustic soda (drain cleaner) and sodium sulphite which you might be able to find sold as a dried fruit preservative.
