There are screw extractors for watchmaking but they can't be used on cameras most of the time since they're very small.

I can recommend this screw extractor for screws M1 ~ 2.6:

The last option that works well for me is the Dremel with a tungsten carbide tip for milling out screw heads.

The remaining screw residue can be removed with these pliers, the Nejisaurus:

He also says (added for increased clarity). I agree that he generally has great advise.

I don't see him recommending soldering and unsoldering... that is specifically what I was asking.

You can also try it out yourself and see if the method I presented works for you.

That would be first-hand experience, the best experience.

No offense intended, which I realize tends to immediately signal an offensive statement, but no thank you. It really behoves the proposer to prove their point. Otherwise, it's just a dream. I don't share that dream and will continue to use more time-proven options that have worked in the past, remembering all of the collateral damage caveats. But if you can change my mind...

Be well. I think I'm at the end of this chat session.

No, I mean that in a friendly way.

We can discuss techniques endlessly, but everyone has to find out for themselves whether this or another one suits them.
