Were 5x7 processing hangers ever made that took 2 sheets of 5x7 film in the same outside hanger dimensions as a 1-sheet 8x10 film hanger. In the same concept as the 4-sheet 4x5 film hangers? I would sure like to find some of them, if they exist. For deep tank dip-n-dunk processing. The single sheet 5x7 hangers are not suitable for some tanks designed around the 8x10 hanger dimensions.

They do exist. A set just sold on *bay with some 8x10 hard rubber tanks. If you want to take a look the item number is 170114823819.

Arkay does (or used to) make them.

Many, but not all, of the Arkay tanks and hangers are listed by Adorama; you may be able to find them there. Not long ago, the entire Arkay line (including sinks, processors, etc.) was online, but it seems to have disappeared from Google's reach.

Someone with easy access to the hardware should verify this, but I seem to recall this: the tank proportions are such that single 5x7 hangers fit across the narrow dimension of 8x10, 3-1/2 gallon tanks, and the long way across 1-gallon tanks. The ones that I have do not fit the long dimension of either a 3-1/2 gallon or 1-gallon SS tank.

For me to develop E-6 I have a stainless frame that takes 8x10 hangers only, or other hangers (such as 4-4x5 in 8x10 dimension) that are the same size. My sink-line does not allow for the smaller hangers as the tanks are long and narrow. Therefore if I want to shoot 5x7 E-6 possibly, I absolutely need some 5x7 hangers that are 8x10 form factor.

try california stainless for new ones, (805) 484-1038. Leedal probably carries them as well, (773) 376-5900, or you can try Regal (what Arkay became)--can't find my catalog at the moment, if I do, I'll post the number....

I have a set of 2-up (8x10 sized) 5x7 hangers, that were made by kodak. they're basically the same size as the 8x10 singles for the 3.5 gallon tank. new--the going rate is around 50 bucks each, I think we paid about 45 dollars per hanger when our deeptank was fabricated, but that was back in the early 90s. I know Kodak was coming in at around the same price. Back then, we also bought a huge lot of used Kodak hangers from photo systems in New Mexico, before eBay and all that- paid about 15 bucks apiece for them...now you can get them pretty cheap. I paid about 50 bucks for a box of 25 or more hangers, including an arkay film basket.
