I find the laser range finders dont work in outdoors, the one I have doesnt for sure. The old hot shoe range finder accessories are easy enough to use, but would require a piggy back shoe coupling. My Leica if has 2 cold shoe couplings which is really handy. Unless your using a portrait lens or a fast lens wide open its easy enough to zone focus. This is a pretty cool tool for sure.
I think the only thing missing from it is a laser rangefinder telling you the distance to your subject.
I have a lot of cameras with manual focus and no viewfinder guidance for distance and having both light metering and distance taken care of would change everything!
That said, there are apps for the iPhone 12 that do measure distance between you and a point in front of you, AND apps that help you meter light for manual cameras.
But nothing that does both yet I'm afraid!
