I am guessing you don't have any CVS/Pharmacy....B&H has great deals on it. I would REALLY like to see Gold in 120 again!!
I've got two CVS's nearby. I haven't seen it there. Just CVS brand and Fuji.

Really? As far as I knew, CVS had a Kodak agreement....over here on the east coast, CVS sells only Kodak products except for their CVS brand film. Interesting.

They have the Kodak processing and all that. They say all their operators are "Kodak Certified". Too bad they still don't know anything.
I'm going to ask about it next time I'm in.

My local CVS employees ("certified" or not I can't say) once ran a roll of conventional B&W film (HP5+, IIRC) through their C-41 minilab, then had the gall to claim the resulting blank strip of film meant there was something wrong with my camera. That incident helped spur me to build my own darkroom.

OTOH, this same CVS also has both Tri-X and BW400CN on its shelves, so they at least get points for stocking B&W film, even if not in great variety.

I have shot a few rolls of the "Memories" film, and I actual like it's slight grain and color palate. Since, I am specifically not going for the digital look. I like the grain and kind of pastel pallet.

In the UK Poundshop sell Kodacolor 200, 24 exp, 2013 date. Not the most sophisticated emulsion on the market but fine for a visual diary.

Walgreens runs their store brand film on sale in the spring, 4 pack and they get it down to around 1.27 a roll. Bought a 100 rolls back in march . Their 200 speed used to be Fuji but the new stuff is agfa from what management told me . Also they said that if I wanted to special order a 100 or more rolls they could give me a price as good or better than the sale price . For me it works better than Kodak gold 200 and scans better as well .

Those are amazing photos! I might have to try the Walgreens stuff.

Well if it's Agfa then there's a good chance it's from Ferrania in Italy. That excites me since I've been wanting to try some Ferrania for its special look. I'm going to Walgreens to investigate further.

** I shot some Walgreens 200 (from Fuji) last week and wasn't impressed with the colors at all.

I'm in the middle of shooting a couple rolls that I'll develop later. I hope I have better luck than you....though Fuji is actually cheaper than the W brand.

I'm a photo tech at my local Walgreens, I'll have to check out the Agfa comment out. We just switched packaging a couple months back for the Walgreens film and it is still Fuji film. It may be different for different regions of the country. I'd like to try some Agfa film if this is true.

Ran across this today as well, let us know for sure if you find out , I have shot some of the older packaged 200 that was fuji so they said and it is more on the warm side as you would expect . The older film was grainier as well . This being only since this past March. Im in the Dallas Tx area.

It actually looks as though the OLD Studio 35 film was the Agfa. Now, I will say that having processed many a roll of this, it is pretty crappy. Those reviews were pretty spot on. The S35 film is decent on outside shots, but I would have never recommended it to my customers. I'm not big on Kodak, but that is one time I would push Kodak.

Thanks for the link because that makes this make sense as to why I didn't know it was Fuji before since that seems to have just started in the last year or so. I think you can find some of the old S35 in the more remote locations, if it hadn't gone out of date yet. I will check tomorrow what stock we have and try to find the differences.

Agfa's film is pretty cheap.. personally I have had loads of free VISTA 400 & PRO 200, both are great films, if a bit grainy, especially the 400.

I once saw a deal of 135-36 iso100 VISTA for 1€/roll, but they ran out *after* I had placed my order and didn't get the film.. I bought some for 1,4€/roll. It's good stuff, altough the colors may not be to everyone's tastes... some samples: http://hakkarainen.kuvat.fi/kuvat/2009/00+Kameramafia/08-22/

The biggest demotivational problem with shooting color film is not the price of film.. it's the price of processing. 6,1€/roll in Finland.

There is one other lab which has a variable price 3-5€/roll, depending on how many rolls you develop at the same time.. but the quality is SO bad. They accidentally expose your undeveloped rolls to light, fill it with scratches, dust & drying marks and on top of that use bad / way too old chemicals... result = utter crap. If I only had motivation to process film at home.. but even B&W is often too much  I simply hate processing film myself.

Thanks Tom

A couple of years ago Staples was closing out in-date Fuji Superia at about $1 a roll. (24 ex) The real bug is the processing. Minilabs are vanishing, not that they were that consistent anyway. At the local camera shop it's now $5 just for the negatives. And I'd swear C-41 I've done in the kitchen sink looked better. (Bear in mind this was when Kodak as still producing small kits.)

CA Sugg- www.clarkcolorlab.com Clean processing at amazing prices...they don't make the greatest prints but are more than good enough for a good preview of the negatives. The negative processing itself is extremely clean.

That's definitely Fuji. I'll show you a comparison of the two rolls.

Fuji:

Walgreens:

You'll notice the barcodes. The number for the Fuji is 106253 and the number for Walgreens is 706253. Now, the quality versus each other, I am not sure as of yet. I will soon find out when I process the two rolls I'll be done with this week.

Also, it looks like that the Agfa film sold as Walgreens Studio 35 is long gone. I found a link discussing the film on photo.net from 2007 where someone mentions it being Fuji then and Agfa being much older stock.

Mike based on the # I have the 706253. and is what I used on the photos posted . So if it's walgreens film who is making it for them or private labeling for them.

If it's Made in Japan it's Fuji. If it's Made in Italy it's Agfa/Ferrania. Made in USA, Kodak.

There is Agfa and AgfaPhoto.

AgfaPhoto (with the red dot) do no coating, but rebranding.
Their current data sheet for 200 IS0 C-41 shows curves from Fuji.

Agfa have no 200 ISO C-41 on offer.

For twice as much money as 24-exposure dollar store film, you can get excellent-quality, emulsion-matching, guaranteed-fresh Fuji Superia 400 24-exposure rolls from B&H in a pro pack or in single rolls. IMHO, this is well worth the investment, unless shooting stuff that is almost meaningless to you, or if you like the inconsistent results you get from dollar store film.

Talking about saving money while shooting 24-exposure rolls does not make much a ton of sense anyhow, as processing costs you 1.5x more per shot than it does with 36-exposure rolls. If you want a high-quality film that will be the most economical to process, get press packages of Superia 135-36.

I found some 135-36 Agfa Vista Plus 200 in a store nearby, retailing for 2,39 euro/roll. That's cheaper than anything I've found online (Macodirect is selling Superia for 3,00/roll). Should I buy the whole stock before they run out?
