Does Zeiss currently make lenses for film cameras?

They certainly make EF and F mount lenses. These alone mean they do, but I suppose they also make Leica mount lenses.

The site also mentions “ZS” lenses (M42) “for industrial use only.” I wonder what exactly that means?

I guess "S" stands for "standard" mount, thus Praktika/Pentax/M42 mount.

"Industrial Use" at lenses typically stands for lenses that are employed at automated manufacturing lines where products are controlled for their colour, surface, shape, size (quality control) or location/orientation (for robot action).

It means the barrel doesn’t look pretty for consumers

Still makes you wonder where you can buy these industrial use only lenses, and if they are cheaper (less pretty) or more expensive (less volume)? When I read it, I guessed that they aren’t manufactured, but if you wanted to buy 10,000 for preinstallation in some surveillance cameras that you’re manufacturing, they could fire the line back up. But single sales were off the table.

Yeah that’d be my guess as well. The term I’d use is OEM production. They wrap the glass into a barrel designed for your form factor and interface requirements. So think things like no focus adjustment, flange mount with bolts, no markings, etc etc

I don’t think here is something like film lenses, but lenses made during film only time.
The beauty of ZM; ZE lenses is in available film and digital cameras. These modern lenses are perfect on film.
For many ZM is preferable choice on film cameras with M mount. It is very nice on bw and color film.

Not so for the Zeiss "industrial" lenses.

To my understanding Zeiss say you can buy a single lens via a Zeiss Industrial distributor. Those distributors though seem only to sell complete automation systems.

Some of the hyped old-brand lenses that recently emerged are said to actually be from the industrial field.

I have a Zeiss 35mm f2.8 lens made in Japan by Cosina for Zeiss. It's a very compact lens, aluminum barrel, terrific lens. I have it in Leica M mount.

No Hasselblad lenses anymore? :-(

No, the Hasselblad lenses for the H (and I think the X) systems are made by Fuji. The Hasselblad/Fuji collaboration goes back to the X-Pan.
