Does anyone have any experience with Classic Pan 400 and D-76?

I have gotten good results with PyroCat-HD rating the film at 200 but I want to rate it at 400 for some street stuff I want to do. I figure I might get acceptable results with D-76. I am not interested in using either HC110 or Rodinal for this project.

I've found Pyrocat gives me better film speed with Forte/Classic Pan 400. I've also used Xtol but need to shoot at 200 ISO, I'd expect the same results with D76.

I find it's fine at 400 in D-76 1:1 but you should run your own tests to determine suitability for you.

This film is the same as Forte 400 so if you find any experiences relating to that film, you can use them in this decision as well.

Classic Pan was Forte. So hopefully you'll have enough on hand since Forte has gone belly up.

Rodinal 1:50 or 1:100 is just about the best developer for this film. I tried some in HC-110 and was not happy with the results. D-76 has a somewhat similar look, and I'm too old to learn pyro.

Just my 2¢

I use it in Acufine at 640 for handheld LF work.
