Despite my ownership of many different brands and types of cameras, I don't have a re-familiarization problem either -- except with one: Exakta. I have to take a piece of paper with me to remember the combinations between the red/black settings on the secondary dial and the settings on the primary speed dial.

I have four Canon New F1 bodies that are my primary working tools that because they are identical and I've been using them for more than twenty years I can operate instinctively almost without thinking, having lots of different cameras and trying to remember at the "decisive moment"what to press is IMO for the birds.

I find that I really need to think about uses for the panorama WideLux camera. I need to think ahead before arriving on site about if and how to use it. If I do not, it is merely ballast for the trip.

...trying to remember at the "decisive moment"what to press...

The shutter release.

If you've got time to mess around with other knobs and dials, it was either not "decisive" or not a "moment".

I use most of my cameras. My list is, Canon EOS-3, Canon F-1, Minolta X700, Minolta SRT102, Nikon FE2, Nikon F3HP, Olympus OM-1, Mamiya Sekor 1000DTL, Yashica FX3 super, Vivitar 220/SL, Mamiya RZ67 Pro, Yashica MAT124G. The only ones I don't use are the FX3 and 220/SL.

I have too many cameras to list here and I'd like to think that I use all of them at one time or another. Although a couple of years may go by between uses on a few of my lesser used ones. And then I have a couple I bought just for show, which don't get used at all.

Still, I have my favorites in both 35mm and medium format, which tend to get used more than others -- but even my favorites amount to about a dozen different ones, so it takes me a while just to rotate through them.

To answer the question for this thread, the answer is no, I don't use all my cameras. The last time I used my Nikon N8008 was probably 2009 when I did an awards ceremony. My Nikon FE had been sitting around unused since 1991. Since it was my first camera though, I'll never part with it. Also, there was a tendency to get a hairline scratch on some rolls of film. I tried to find what was scratching it, but was unsuccessful until last month. I ended up getting a diamond file and removing the burr. Haven't shot a roll through it yet though.

I have a Nikon L35 (the first Nikon point and shoot) and I used that so much that the viewfinder is filled with junk and the battery door is "fixed" with a makeshift latch. Then a coworker said his wife had a L35 that she wasn't using and if I wanted it. So I took it and was going to leave it in the car with some film, but I never did. It's sitting in a bag somewhere and I never did try it out.

The two cameras that get the most use is the Hasselblad 553ELX and my newly rediscovered Konica Hexar AF camera. For some reason I recently really wanted to try a Leica but I didn't have Leica money. Then I remembered I had the Hexar AF that was quiet and had a lens that was similar to the Leica 35mm lens. So, I've been using that camera a lot lately.

All of mine have been used at some point, if only to make sure they all do actually work. My most used are a Zorki 4K, my Bronicas (2x ETR's) I have two German 1/4 plate jobbies, which Im currently experimenting with, a multitude of 35mm SLRs such as Nikon F2, multiple practikas, BCA MTL50 etc etc, A King Penguine folder, a Bencicni Coroll, An Agfa Optima, and a fair number of others that I cant recall right now, oh and a couple of old Box cameras, and most recent acquisition is a Fed3.

Not a chance, I must have 30+ awaiting restoration, and anothe 10 in Turkey. there's a number of SLRs 6x9 to 5x4 needing shutter repairs, Field cameras needing parts replaced or fixed & some need bellows.

Then some cameras are for workshop use. anything restored is fully useable, whether by me is another question. Some I can't get film for I have very nice 1898-1902 rare roll film camera that shoots 5x4" negatives, shutter is like new and acuratee.

I keep getting more, and using them, I shot 3 rolls with my Minolta 5000 AF today. My brother is gradually getting rid of his film gear, mostly by giving it to me. He has an Olympus OM20 system and a Contax T2 60 Year Gold Edition set. He was talking today about selling the Contax too. He recently bought an Olympus OM-D E-M10 and wants to fund another lens (or two). Any thoughts on current value? eBay prices seem to vary between GBP325 and GBP625. He said it has a couple of barely noticeable scratches on the top and some dust in the viewfinder but works perfectly.

I plan to sell all my cameras except 2 Nikons and 2 Leicas (M3, M6, F3 and F), and some special cameras that I use to get results that are not possible to get from Leica/Nikon (Polaroid, original Diana F, 6x6 Folder).
Already sold Mju, both XA, duplicate lenses like 2 nikkors 50mm, nikkor zoom, some Lomo and point and shoots, 6x6 Agfa...

I have only one, the Nikon FE2, but i plan for a second, probably a FM2, FM3 or F3, but FM3 is expensive.
