Do magnets affect RA-4 paper?

Hello all, After becoming very disenchanted with Fuji Crystal Archive Type II paper, I bought a 275' roll of the type C. I'm building a simple device to cut the paper down, and it may involve magnets to keep the paper pinned to my cutting surface. This leads to my question: Will this somehow affect the paper? I'm aware silver is not affected by magetism, but is there something in the paper that I don't know about? Can anyone answer this question? Perhaps Zeus of APUG, Photo Engineer, can answer this mortal's question.

I'd always thought of PE as sort of the Oracle of APUG. But Zeus, wow.

Maybe I should go out and buy an Olympus camera. Is there a photo product called Delphi? Maybe I need that as well.

Anyhow, there is nothing in magnets that will affect any photographic product at all! That is, as long as the field is within the ranges that humans can generate at present. At extremely high flux, such as being generated by superconductors, who can say, but that is years in the future for mortal men.

PS, if the paper is in a Kodak box and there is any wording like this "Type C", then you have an old product because that name was discontinued in the 60s.

Magnets will not effect the paper but static electricity can. Make sure that the humidity in the room is not too low. Unwind the paper slowly from the roll.

Are you implying PE is blind? (or was that some other oracle?) Seems to me that I read here some time back that he has no idea what colour is.

How I remember is due too the electric shock treatments!

We used magnets to hold up mural size paper before exposing to our horizontal 8x10 enlarger. The only thing they would do is leave a unexposed spot.
