Sad indeed Art, to listen to the digital brigade all film cameras are disposable now, I wonder how many companys worldwide have ceased trading since photography became part of the electronics industry.

Good.

Lets be honest: they were awful! Combined with rotten D&P by 16 year olds on finicky processing machines with depleted chemicals, the results from these piles of junk served only to damage the reputation of film in the consumer consciousness.

The only disposable cameras that are any cop at all are the Kodak ones with the Ektanar lenses. The 800 ISO film is still awful though.

Mind you, I just picked up an Olympus mju-II Zoom for less than I could have got any disposable. Maybe that has had something to do with it?

True, the disposable cameras are not great, but hate to see a film manufacture go out of business.

They didn't manufacture film, just the camera shell that went around it. And by the piles of disposable cameras I see at the $2 shops and my grocery store checkout, I think there are other manufacturers to take their place in this particular industry...

Not going to miss them one bit.....we take a lot of OTUC'S in at my lab, seems to me the polaroid ones, especially the "zoom" one have issues with light leaks. For those of you who say, "what do you expect for $5"....kodak and fuji and even my store's own ritz brand cameras don't have those problems.
