Less than three months ago I had to order diopters for two cameras, the M2 and F2A. The Leica needed +1 and the Nikon +0.5. I could than see good to focus-job complete.

Well, not quite. I noticed even without looking through the camera a couple weeks ago I couldn't focus as well with my right eye as myi left. I'd put my hand over my right eye and see pretty good at distances but not vice versa. I decided to go see the doc and theyi ran some tests and gave an exam. turns out I needed my prescription changed a tad so, another $350 for new lens.

The lens came the other day and the gal put them in my frames. I came home and at some point reached for the Leica to find the rangefinder didn't look as sharp so, I tried the Nikon...same thing. I took the individual diopters out and just looked through the finder without them and voila, better vision. so, bottom line is I now don't need the diopters. Bummer in a way as that Leica diopter cost me some $100. I'll hang on to both just in case, down the road t hings change again. At least I didn't have to order yet a somewhat stronger diopter for both like I originally thought. One good point is I could put the original rubber ringed plain diopter back on the F2A again and protect the lens of my glasses.
